Setting up the Track

3rd Group Meeting

In this group meeting, we modified and completed our previous game idea. Instead of 2 parts to the game, we plan to have 3. In the first part of the game, will have to race through the street leading up to the parking garage. Once you reach the parking garage, then the second part commences where you will have to try to find parking. Then in the third part, you will race to class. There will be a count down timer throughout the entire level, which can run into negative time if you take too long. There will be NPC’s and obstacles throughout each part trying to stop and hinder your progression through the level.

Additionally, we planned what we wanted to have completed by the first playable and made goals to have completed by the next meeting. We plan on having a proper track with obstacles, and will look into getting NPC cars set up to challenge the player trying to get to the parking garage. We also finished our game proposal power point slides and prepared for the in class presentation. A link to the presentation can be seen down below.

The Journey Begins

1st Group Meeting

We had our first group meeting today to discuss what type of game we would like to make. We got the majority of our idea from “U can’t find parking at UCF”, especially since we wanted to make something that everyone could relate to. The name of the game we have so far decided for the game is UCF simulator. It will have two levels. In the first level, the player will need to find a parking space in a parking lot with limited parking spaces. This will not be easy as there will be NPC cars driving around looking for spaces as well. In the second level, the player will try to rush to class as soon as possible, but there will be some people or an accident trying to stop and waste your time. Both levels will share the time limit, which is still undecided.
